Luke 11: 28
He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”
I started this blog as a way to encourage others to not just read God’s Word but to live it, in other words to obey it. Jesus assures us that those who obey God’s Word are blessed. And I believe this with all my heart and soul but…
I don’t feel very blessed at the moment (even though intellectually I know that I am). I was diagnosed with bilateral brain tumors in 2012, noncancerous but they still wreaked havoc on my health and my life. The tumors have been stable since 2016 until now.
In August, I found out one of my tumors had started growing again. Of course, it’s on the side that I still have hearing so in November, I started receiving treatment again using a type of chemotherapy.
This was not an easy decision for me since I developed several serious health issues from being on it in 2014-2016, but I want to save my hearing if it’s possible so…. I had my first treatment. I can definitely feel a difference in my body, even though the side effects aren’t pronounced at this time.
Anyway… back to the point of this post. I may not “feel” blessed at the moment but that doesn’t mean that I’m not blessed. I am so very blessed in so many ways. So this week before Thanksgiving, I wanted to publicly declare my thanks to God for all ways, big and small, that I’ve been blessed.
