Isaiah 26:3
You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast because they trust in you.
Follow your heart? I hear people giving this advice all the time. But is it really good advice? Not according to Isaiah 26: 3. Keeping our minds steadfast is actually the opposite of following your heart. Being steadfast means not being ruled by your heart or your emotions.
Instead, trust in God. When you remain steadfast and trust in God, then you will have the perfect peace that only God can give you. We can’t always control what happens in our life, but when we trust God, He will give us the strength and peace we need to navigate the circumstances.
Notice I didn’t say God will change our circumstances–give us our miracle–or answer our prayers they way we want. That doesn’t always happens. When it does that’s a wonderful gift from God, but we need to trust God in all circumstances.
Follow your heart? I think not.
Trusting God is the way path to perfect peace.
