Luke 2: 49 (NKJV)
And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?”
Even at twelve, Jesus knew what was important–His Father’s business.
I often forget that’s what’s really important. Instead, I focus on unimportant details. Oh wait…they don’t feel all that unimportant to me…until we view them from God’s point of view…then suddenly they don’t seem quite as important. But what is My Father’s business? Jesus tells us the answer in Matthew 22: 37when he’s asked what the greatest commandment is… Jesus declared, “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” And the second part of the commandment is to love others in the same way.
Love God. Love others.
If we all started using that as the standard for our behavior, the world would become a better place.
What the world needs now is love–sweet love!
