John 14: 27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
The following is a Facebook post I wrote. So many people seemed to find comfort from it that I decided to post it on the blog. I hope it blesses you as well.
I saw a post where someone was wondering why Us Baby Boomers were being so stupid about the Coronavirus. I can only assume they mean because we aren’t panicking. Do you want to know why I’m not panicking?
Because I’ve lived through the assassination of one president and the attempted assassination of another, not to mention the assassinations of Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King. Because I remember sitting under my desk practicing for an atomic bomb attack. Because I’ve seen war played out on television as the body count went higher and higher. Because I’ve seen our country torn apart by riots and students being killed on college campuses. Because I’ve experienced national tragedies like the space shuttle exploding and the 9/11 attacks. Through these and countless other difficult situations, our country has survived. And we will survive this as well.
But mostly I’m not panicking because I know that God is still in control.
God bless you.
