God’s Gift Card–Part 2!

John 3: 16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life

This comes from the visiting minister we had last Sunday. So I give him the credit–not me!

So yesterday, we talked about gift cards and how billions of dollars are lost each year because no one redeems the cards! Then I had you fill in 4 blanks. If you didn’t here’s your second chance.

  1. Name
  2.  Something you love to do that brings you joy.
  3.  Something you wish you could do.
  4.  Something that’s disappointed, made you sad, mad, or frustrated.

God has offered each of us a gift card. Now you’re going to fill in the blanks with your answers from above. This is God’s gift card to each of us.

Dear __________________________________________________ (1),

Before I created the universe, I had you in mind. You were exclusively created, and I love you more than you can imagine. It brings me great pleasure to see you fulfilled and enjoying life. I love it when you __________________________(2).

I know life isn’t easy, and at times you’ve found it more difficult than you expected. Some of the dreams you’ve had like (3) _____________________________________________ now seem silly, impossible or too late. Don’t give up! Life isn’t over yet and I know the plans I have for you.

I know you’re disappointed and frustrated about (4) ___________________________________________________________. But don’t worry–I’m greater than that frustration or disappointment or anything else you’ll ever face. Since death can’t hold me, then you know I can help overcome your hurts, disappointments, and failures.

Trust in me!

Here is what I want to say to you. Come to me and I will carry you. I really mean it. You don’t have to do this on your own. I’m here waiting for you. Through the sacrifice of my one and only son, your past failures can be forgiven and forgotten. Your future can be different–for all eternity!

The empty tomb is a reminder that nothing is impossible when you put your trust in me. With me, all things are possible. If you’re ready, I’m ready. Just let me know. And remember, I love you more than you can imagine!

That’s a gift card that’s too precious to not be redeemed!
