Hebrews 13: 5
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have because God said, “Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you.”
More! Bigger! Better!
We live in a world where most people want more… and bigger…and better. More money. More things. More followers. You name it and we want more of it.
And the world asks, “What’s wrong with wanting more?”
But God says be content with what you have. Without that contentment, you can’t really enjoy your life. You can’t really appreciate what you have if you’re always worried about wanting more…and bigger…and better.
When I read this verse today “be content” stood out to me. In the moment I read those words, it wasn’t about money at all. But rather about the things in my life that I want to change so I can have a better life.
I struggle with a myriad of health issues because of bilateral brain tumors caused by Neurofibromatosis Type 2. But in the moment I read those words today, I felt God saying be content–appreciate what you have–stop worrying about what you don’t have–enjoy your life in this moment–BE CONTENT.
And that is my prayer for you and for me this day… Help me, Father, to be content.
Did you pray those words? Did you feel some of the tension, worry, and anxiety slip away to be replaced by God’s supernatural peace?
HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!
