Ephesians 6: 17
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit,
of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Both of these verses talk about God’s Word as a sword. A sword was a mighty weapon in Bible times. When the Word of God is referred to as a sword, it tells us that it’s a God-given weapon to protect us. In fact, the Word of God is one of the most powerful weapons God has given us.
I believe in the power of God’s Word.
I’ve experienced the power of God through His Word–again and again.
I can’t tell you how or why it works, only that it does work but….and it’s a BIG BUT… but in order to access God’s power through His Word, there are things you must do. First, you must know the Word. That takes time and a commitment to regular Bible study. Second, you must apply God’s Word to your life, in other words you must be willing to obey God. When you add these two things together, you will also experience the power of God through His Word.
Anyway…this post is my way of introducing a new feature to this blog–BIBLE POWER TIPS. Originally, I was going to call it Thought for the Day, but that seemed way too boring. The Word of God is truly amazing. The Word of God can change your life. The Bible is filled with God’s wisdom. Godly wisdom gives us the ability to make godly choices in our life. And godly choices will change our life for the better.
And that’s what Bible Power Tips are all about!
