2 Peter 1: 3

HIs power gives us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

I love this verse! It may be a fairly short verse but there’s a lot to be learned from it.

HIs power gives us everything we need… Simple and to the point. We don’t have to worry. We don’t have to be frustrated. We don’t have to be afraid. All we have to do is trust God and his promises.

HIs power gives us everything we need for life and godliness… And just in case you’re thinking Peter is talking only about spiritual needs, he differentiates–life and godliness. God isn’t just concerned about our spiritual growth, but about our daily life.

…through our knowledge of him… So how do we get this power? Through our knowledge of God. So how do we get this wonderful knowledge of God? Through God’s Word. So if you want more power in this life as well as more spiritual victories, focus on God’s Word. It will give you everything you need for life and for godliness.
