The Importance of Prayer
Colossians 4: 2:
Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
1 Thessalonians 5: 17: …pray without ceasing.
Ephesians 6: 18: And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.
Prayer is my natural reaction to a difficult situation. Recently I had two concerns in my family. One—a serious illness and the other, an employment need. I pounded on God’s door, pleading for days.
I praise God the ill person is out of the hospital and regaining strength daily. The other person got one of the jobs she interviewed for.
I praise God the ill person is out of the hospital and regaining strength daily. The other person got one of the jobs she interviewed for. I’m not saying God always answers quickly. But my point is, God heard my pleas and had mercy on me and the people I prayed for in His own timing.
“We put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe.” 1 Timothy 4:9.
Thanks, June! One of the things I hear people say is there’s nothing left to do but pray. In fact that’s the first thing we should always do in any situation!
