Jeremiah 29:14
I will be found by you declares the Lord and will bring you back from captivity.
I love this verse. In my mind I picture myself wandering around in the woods thinking I know where I’m going but in reality I’m lost–again! And just when I realize I’m lost-again, there stands Jesus waiting to bring me out of the wilderness once more.
Life is like that. We think we know what we’re doing. We think we can handle the situation on our own. The more we try the more lost we get, but our God is a patient God. He waits in the wilderness to bring out out of the prisons we create for ourselves.
He’s always there when I need him most.
What an awesome loving God He is!
SHARING TIME: Tell us about a time God brought you out of captivity.
A few years ago I would lay on the sofa and feel sorry for myself. I was so sick and no one seemed to care. Even God seemed to have abandoned me. I kept praying for God to console me and please answer my prayer that my doctors would find what was wrong with me. “Please God, if its MS or whatever it is let the doctor find a diagnosis so he can treat my illness.” At the same time I was praying this prayer, my husband and mother were praying that I didn’t have MS because they knew how dehabilitating the disease is. As it turned out I didn’t have MS but another auto-immune disease. I am doing much better now but still have chronic fatigue syndrome. God answers in mysterious ways. We should praise him always and He will “bring you back from captivity.”
