God’s Way is Better  by Dicky To

In 1991, I was determined to earn an MBA degree at a top university in Chicago. During my school search, I came across a small Christian college I had never heard of before. “No name and small.” Why should I waste my time with it? I kept looking.

However, time was running out—my student visa would expire in a few weeks. My girlfriend and I prayed earnestly to ask the Lord to open a door for me. We waited. To our surprise, His answer was the “no name and small” Christian college. I applied. A few days before my visa expired, my student paperwork was completed. During my studies in the MBA program, God placed me into the care of three Christian professors, who later became my good friends. They also offered me two on-campus jobs, giving me opportunities to gain work experiences relevant to my career path.

God’s thoughts always surpass ours and are beyond our expectations. No matter what decision we need to make, big or small, we should inquire of Him, for He will direct us according to His will and take us to the way we should go. If I had held onto my own desire, I would have missed all He had prepared for me.

Let God lead you where He thinks is best.

Isaiah 55:9

“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways    and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
