I am a child of God.

I am a loved and hopefully loving wife.

I am a writer.

I am all of these things and more. Each of us can describe ourselves in many different ways depending on what role we’re playing that day. I’m no different, but first and foremost I am a child of God. When God comes fir that changes everything else, including or maybe I should say especially my writing.

I write Christian fiction, mostly fast-paced suspense and mystery novels. Now you might think suspense and mystery novels can’t be Christian fiction, but I’d like to respectfully disagree. Writing is not only my passion but my ministry. Jesus used stories known as parables to teach. And though I certainly don’t compare myself to Jesus, I do consider myself a parable writer.

A parable is an earthly story with a heavenly message!

And that’s a good description of the fiction I write. My characters are on a spiritual journey as they try to survive whatever evil has befallen them, either from their own choices or somebody else’s! But sometimes fiction isn’t enough! And that’s why I write devotions here and from time to time other places as well.  Whether as a speech-language pathologist, an educator, or writer, I believe in the power of words to change lives, especially God’s Word.
