Romans 12
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
How’s your Bible study time going? My goal this year was to do a deep dive of the New Testament. I’m only reading 1-2 chapters each day. I’m happy to report I’ve been pretty consistent in spite of some serious life challenge. I’m up to Romans, Chapter 12.
This chapter made me sit back and say WOW! I thought I’d share some of the insights from the chapter with you. This chapter is all about pleasing God by offering ourselves as a living sacrifice–in other words Paul spends some time teaching us how we can please God with our actions.
Here’s the list I came up with:
Do not conform to the world.
Do not think highly of yourself.
Love sincerely.
Hate evil.
Cling to good.
Be joyful in hope.
Be patient in affliction.
Be faithful in prayer.
Share with other believers.
Practice hospitality.
Bless those who persecute you.
Live in harmony with others.
Do not be proud or conceited.
Do not repay evil for evil.
As much as possible, live at peace with everyone.
Do not take revenge.
Overcome evil with good.
Like I said, WOW! There’s a lot I could say about the above list, but I think I’ll just let you reread it for yourself.
Happy Easter!
