Exodus 14: 14 AMP
The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace and remain at rest.
I haven’t made any secrets about the fact that I’m battling a variety of health issues stemming from bilateral brain tumors. So, here we go again. I had my second treatment in October and am already having “issues.” I’ve lost all my hearing in my right ear along with having balance issues. Now, it appears the same thing is happening with the left tumor.
That means I could be completely deaf soon, and I can’t even begin to imagine what it will mean for my balance. And I’m not going to try to imagine it.
I refuse to give in to the anxiety and worry.
Instead, I want to enjoy the time I have left to hear–if indeed I do go deaf. I want to hear my husband’s corny jokes, his beautiful singing voice, and mostly him telling me that he loves me. I listen to music more than I used to, especially music praising and worshiping God.
I will remain at rest and hold my peace while God fights my battles for me.
Whatever battle you are facing, I pray that you will do the same. We can’t always control our circumstances, but we can control our reaction to the circumstances. Our reactions can honor God or dishonor God. I choose to honor God by smiling through my storms.
What will you choose?
You are so encouraging! Praying you don’t lose your hearing or your balance!

Wow, Lillian. This is really a powerful post. I can’t imagine facing what you are facing. Thank you for sharing your personal struggle, as well as the grace and strength that God is giving you to go through such trials with Him in control. What a testimony!

When we are weak, He is strong. Sounds like God has really been working on you this weekend.

So true-not being so independent isn’t certainly one of the lessons I’ve learned over the past year. Blessings to you, Janet.
