GOD CARES!

1 Timothy 4: 8

…but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.

GOD cares…

when bad things happen.

when life becomes overwhelming.

when you feel anxious, sad, and alone.

GOD cares!

God cares, but it doesn’t always feel that way when we’re going through a storm. And right now, we’re all going through a storm But God cares about you and your life right now. This very moment when everything is scary to say the least. This very moment when we don’t know what the future holds.

The above verse reminds us that godliness has value for the present life so with that in mind I’d like to share some Bible verses that have helped me in the past.

FOCUS ON THE PRESENT.

Matthew 6: 34: Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Worrying and being anxious about what MIGHT happen in the future steals our peace and joy today. Make the choice to stop worrying about tomorrow and focus on today. Today I have enough. Today I am safe. Today I will keep my eyes on God–and he is always enough.

AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE.

1 Chronicles 16: 34: Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever

I truly believe being thankful is the key to more peace and joy no matter what is happening around us or to us.  In my own struggles, health and otherwise, I’ve discovered that being thankful for what I do have keeps me from getting stuck in the rut of self-pity.  Why not sit down today and start making a list of all that you’re thankful for?

MAKE GOOD CHOICES.

2 Timothy 1:7: For God did not give us a spirit of timidity but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.

It’s so easy right now to start making bad choices because after all we’re stuck in our houses–can’t go anywhere–can’t do anything so I might as well…spend money I don’t have…eat things that aren’t healthy for me…drink more than is good for me…the list can go on and on. I know I’m struggling with the eating healthy thing right now. When this all started, I decided not to worry about the future. Eat what I want and worry about it later, but…God gave me a spirit of power and of self-discipline.  So…I will make a good choice–today. Because I don’t have to worry about tomorrow.

We’re all in this together. Whatever you’re worrying about, others are too. Whatever you’re struggling with, others are too.  Whatever you’re feeling, others are too.  So focus on the present, keep an attitude of gratitude, make good choices, and we’ll get through this together.

But most of all, remember God cares!

GOD BLESS!

!
