Psalm 46: 10 NIV
Be still, and know that I am God.
I am reminded of this verse at different times for different reasons.
Sitting along the shore of a beautiful lake, or staring at majestic mountains, or even a particularly beautiful sunset, the verse reminds me God is THE CREATOR.
Sitting in the doctor’s office, hearing bad news, knowing that my life is about to change, the verse reminds me God is THE HEALER.
Sitting at home, as worries, questions and doubts assail me, the verse reminds me God is THE ANSWER.
Most of us live in a busy, loud world where we don’t have enough time to do the things we must let alone the thngs we’d like to. But this verse tell us that it’s OK to be quiet, to do nothing, to be still and reflect on God.
It’s hard to hear the whispers of God when we’re moving at warp speed.
So, during this crazy holiday season, go find a place to hide even if but for a few moments, breathe deeply, be still and know that He is God.
And that is more than enough for me!

Thanks for this reminder, Lillian. I often need that word! What especially caught my attention, though, is how you presented 3 Thanksgiving offerings for other Christian poets and writers to consider. i.e., Regardless of our writing genre, we might ask: What does God my Creator want me to create? What healing word does God my Healer give me to administer healing to others? What does God my Answer want to help me or my readers resolve? May your good word continue to bless others in Jesus’ Name.

Beautifully written, Lillian. This is one of my all-time favorite verses.
It’s too bad we all need to be reminded of it from time to time.
I especially love your variations of application depending on the circumstance.
